So she really has to kind of fit herself into the mold that they believe she should be in. It made the ending easier to write: What ultimately transforms her wasnt a pill Nella had to take. I also added a prologue, where you see another woman dealing with the effects of the grease before you meet Nella. It captures the slow burn and nuance of what its like to be a Black woman in a white space when another Black woman enters.
